2 Years, 375 Posts & 1000 Comments

March 4th, 2005

It’s been a long and winding road to the 1000th comment on here, but I thought I would commemorate it with a recap of some of my favorite entries over the past two years. Congrats to Ali for picking up the coveted honor of being Ms. 1000. Anywho, most of the good posts came about a year ago, when the anti-bush rhetoric was in full swing. Check these out, and get ready to laugh.

10. Random smack talk. Don’t need to say much more than that.

9. Me getting OWNED at wal-mart.

8. Just because I love this photo so much.

7. Some of my favorite commercials.

6. A nice political flamewar about employment rates.

5. One of the last times I got to hang out with my friends ended with a bang. Some great drunken photos.

4. Another Amazing photo.

3. It seems like last year, any time I posted a political thread, a war broke out. Erik, Rick, Cory, Amber, and a few others really made this place exciting. Here is a good example of what we got to read.

2. One of my all time favorites is This entry about GWB v. Kerry’s football skills. As usual, a political thread gone wrong.

And, number one….

1. A year ago, I was gearing up to head to Switzerland and a lot of very insane accusations got thrown around in this thread. There was even a Burt Renyolds appearance!

I just wanted to thank everyone for swinging by here and making my site entertaining. Hopefully I can make it interesting enough for you to want to come back and maybe even throw in your two cents.

  1. does this make me ms. 1001 too? :)
    and yes…that switz thread.

    wow.
too bad i didn’t know your drama years. now all i know is the drama-free dandruff.

maybe it’s better that way…but it’s reversed on my side! all you know is my drama!

i’ll find the corniest postcard i can in cali!

  2. Bravo!! It’s amazing to me that Amber never committed suicide with all the beatings she took. Then again I haven’t seen any posts from her lately…

  3. Yea, you guys were … harsh for sure. Some funny stuff in there, though.

To her credit as well, I talk to her a good bit nowadays and she’s a lot cooler and a lot less … intense.. about all this political stuff.

  4. well, it’s nice to see she finally accepted defeat.

  5. as i read all of these rather awesome recaps from your adventures i find myself particularly envious. i also thought that the snow thing was funny from the perspective of a yankee that had to trudge to school in over 3 feet of snow on a regular basis.

  6. I’m not sure if I’d call it defeat - I just think she (and maybe a lot of other people) have learned to take things with a grain of salt, so to speak.

All the conspiracy theories we were hearing last year were just that - theories.

  7. That’s an impressive list. What is sort of funny to me is that I can’t imagine such conversations (particularly the political ones) erupting if we all met in person to talk. So then I begin thinking that the posts here are the same as the inner monologues would be sitting around a table drinking beer.

Someone would say, “Oh, that’s a good point but…”

And in their head they would be doing Burt Reynolds impressions.
