a mighty wind came out tuesday of last week, and i finally got it yesterday. what a truly great movie. christopher guest and his gang are so great at their brand of subtle, offbeat improv-style comedy.

this latest offering doesn’t disappoint. of all of Guest’s mockumentaries, this one is the least satirical, but easily as funny as spinal tap, best in show, or guffman. the characters are a bit more … believable in this movie that ones in the past, but every bit as funny.

you have to love how these characters all matter-of-factly reveal some of the most insane character flaws to the camera. anyways, i really recommend Christopher Guest fans get the DVD – it’s got a ton of great deleted scenes and extra features, etc.
