Copeland – In Motion I got my hands on Copeland’s latest offering last week, In Motion, and I’m quite impressed. It’s different than their last CD, but in a good way. Save for one song (Kite), I can’t seem to put this album down.
I bought it right before I headed back to Atlanta for spring break, and I’ve officially listened to the entire thing over 50 times (note that I was in a car for 7 or so hours each way, so it’s not as bad as it seems). In any event, Aaron Marsh’s vocals are as beautiful as ever, and their music and lyrics seem to have matured a bit since Beneath Medicine Tree. It’s still got that whiny emo feel at times, but I can make exceptions for truly talented bands like these guys. Between this CD, The Mars Volta’s album, and Ben Folds’ Songs for Silverman (due out in a month or two), I’ve got some damn good music to listen to these days.
