On Florida Broken Ac Units and Other Ways to Lose 10lbs

On Florida, broken A/C units, and other ways to lose 10lbs…. It was really nice to be home for a few days and see some of my friends – I even got to catch up with someone I haven’t seen in a LONG time, and it really made the entire trip worthwhile by itself. The trip back was pretty nice, and when I got back to Orlando, I was really looking forward to cooling down in my apt, and generally unwinding before starting back to school this week. My A/C unit is on the fritz … again.

It runs technically – cool air does come out of the vents, however, it’s not cold, it’s cool. By my estimation, the coldest this place has gotten is 75 or 80 at night, and close to 90 during the day. We’ve filed numerous complaints to the apt complex, and every time they come to check it out, we get the same tired reply about how cold air seems to be coming out, and “it’s Florida – it can only get so cool, ya know.” (ironically, the leasing office is a crisp 60 degrees at all times) They’re supposed to come by tomorrow morning and fix whatever’s wrong – I highly doubt anything will come out of it, though.

Might I add that it is so hot right now that the CPU fan for my G5 (which never runs unless I’m doing some insane video compression or something along those lines) has been running non-stop for at least 2 hours. I’m going to put my Mac to sleep in a few just so I can let the poor guy rest. Anywho, let’s hope they do something – it’s supposed to be in the mid 90s all week here.

No A/C would be a bad thing… …..4 months till I can live in a real apartment complex……

Ok, now what?
