It’s funny how we will put off work we know about for a week or more, only doing the bare minimum until mere hours before it is done. It’s also funny how some people perform wonderfully in these circumstances (myself – I do my best work when a deadline is approaching), and others crack under the same pressure (there are a few kids in my class who fall into the latter category, crumbling at the last second and putting out piss-poor work). I talked to no less than 10 people online around 4 or 5am tonight working on last second projects, papers, etc. – so I’m not alone in my evil ways. I’m not sure how my After Effects project will turn out.
It’s due in a little less than 12 hours now. I’ve been up most of the night working on it, and I feel it’s a pretty solid clip, given how much time I’ve actually been using the software. When I’m done, I’ll post the work here for all to see.
Until then, I have more work to do. I’m slowly finding out that my future is going to include a lot of these all-night sessions. In a deadline-based ‘Industry’ such as digital media, there is going to be a lot of last second scrambling to get something just right. Red Bull has already become one of my closest allies, and I’m sure he won’t let me down in the future, either.
