Dreamweaver 8.0.2, Flash and You

Macromedia released the Dreamweaver 8.0.2 update to their web authoring software. While it offers nothing new in the areas of performance or stability, it does offer one notable feature – the ability to embed . swf files using javascript (easily). This is in reaction to the IE Active Content Update pushed out a few weeks ago. Now, rather than having to click on a Flash object in IE to “activate it”, you can simply go about your life as if IE never had to update their browser in reaction to a patent lawsuit.

If you use Firefox or another browser, you’re safe, for now. This, coupled with the Flash Active Content Update, makes embedding Flash in html pages easy again.

Ok, now what?
