Windows Insecurity

a very good article about inherent weaknesses in the way Microsoft releases their operating systems. i’ve always said that if MS would make the default user a ‘user’ instead of ‘admin’, tons of major viruses could be avoided. this article talks about this point, and a few others.

it also talks about how OSes like Linux, Unix, and Mac OS all are much more secure, and less likely to have a major virus cripple the system. a good read for those who think that “security through obscurity” is the only reason that linux and Mac OS based computers don’t’ get viruses.

Ok, now what?
