Parking Lot

It took 11 hours to drive from Orlando to Atlanta yesterday. I heard some reports that it was taking over 17 to make what is normally a 6 hour drive. Gas stations from O-town all the way to Macon were out of gas, and there were no hotels to stay at. I’ve never seen anything […]

The Blizzard of 2004

! well it’s that glorious time of year again, where all Atlanta residents get our annual blizzard (2 inches of snow). that’s right, it’s a winter wonderland outside! the grocery stores are out of bread and water everywhere you go, the city is deserted, and schools have been cancelled. litereally, the entire metro atlanta area […]

New York

i’m seriously thinking about moving to NYC next fall. i don’t exactly hate atlanta – it’s a nice place in some respects. but, i’m ready for something new. whether or not i stay there 1 year or 10 is another story. i’m just ready to experience, and be challenged by, a new place. something that […]

Less Than 2 Months

Less than 2 months till i move out again. man, i can’t wait. it’ll be nice to just be on “my own” again – i never even really see my parents when i’m here, but it’s still just one of those things, i’m too old to be living here.

it was nice to be able to move home, pay off a lot of debts that i owed, buy a new mac, and manage to save a couple of bucks while i was at it. too bad most of that will go toward paying off the rest of the car repairs from earlier this year, and furniture and such when i move to Georgian Hills in august. ce la vi. but, it’s nice to essentially be debt-free (at least, till those damned student loans come due). anywho, rent will be pretty cheap (around $325 a person utilities), so i can’t argue with that. i think i’ll end up living in atlanta until i get out of school, presumably get a design-related job, and then figure things out from there.

the more i think about it, i think maybe getting away from here for a little while after school would be a good idea. maybe south, maybe east coastish (NYC, Boston, etc), maybe out west, or maybe move somewhere like Denver or something and enjoy my 20s snowboarding and working a job i like in that area. only time will tell, and i’m like 5 steps ahead of myself right now.

will i end up leaving Atlanta most likely not, but i am considering it… all i DO know is i can’t wait to get out of my house, enjoy my last few quarters of school, then figure things out from there.
